Nicola Whitnack

Associate Manager

Nicola Whitnack, who received her Renfrew 15-year service pin last year, looks back positively at her career with Renfrew.  “Sixteen years ago, I had a background in early childhood education and was looking for a new opportunity.  I started at the Bowness Centre location as a child development facilitator and stayed for 10 years in various classrooms and programs, becoming a home-visit coordinator along the way and then an associate manager.”

“It is such a cool place. The physical building is so
wonderful with great resources and equipment
– everything you need to help the children.”

Nicola enjoys working according to the school calendar with summers off for her own family and interests.
“I always wanted to work at the Janice McTighe Centre and had a goal to work there for a year before I retired, so when an opportunity came available, I took it. I’ve now been here for 5 years and I plan to retire here - it is such a cool place.  The physical building is so wonderful with great resources and equipment – everything you need to help the children. Although we have a huge responsibility to do our best for the kids and families, they are so wonderful. It’s a fun place, a good place to work and a good place for families.”
