Marlene Arnst
Manager
Marlene Arnst has lived with the kind of challenges faced by many of Renfrew’s children. A childhood illness resulted in significant deficits and a bleak prognosis, but her parents didn’t give up hope. “There were people in my life who really went the extra mile for me and I want to offer that same opportunity for children and their families, she’s says. “If families don’t get the support they need, it will have a direct impact on their children’s lives.”
Marlene came to Renfrew in 1994 first as a child development facilitator but she was soon ready to take on a teaching role and then became a program manager. Renfrew has allowed her to do what she really wants in life. “I’m here”, she states, “to make sure that the kids’ experiences are in line with what the parents want for them and what the children need. I want the kids to make progress, have fun and be happy.”

Marlene feels that there are a number of things that combine to make Renfrew such an excellent organization. “There is a high level of knowledge and a desire to continuously expand that expertise, there is (on the part of both management and staff) continual examination of the programs and how to make them even better, and there is respect for kids, families and fellow staff.“ “I love working with people, getting to know them and finding ways to help them get what they need for their children. It is very rewarding work!”
